Time for your check-up, Little Sis!

I'm not sure why I'm surprised, but Little Sis has grown 3.5" in the past year. Back in the 90th percentile for height. She's such a bean pole. Love her. And she handled her vaccinations/boosters like a pro. I had to send Libby out of the room as she started freaking out and trying to transfer her anxiety on all of us. But barely a flinch from S and I forgot that the MMR/Chickenpox booster happened at age 4. It's a painful one, but the good news is that she's done until about age 11 now :)

So, now we are ready for S to start preK. Class will be in the PM this year. We may have to add some AM nap time back in...but I think she's ready.

Oh, and Libby & I went for our dental check-ups and cleanings a few weeks ago. She's so odd about flavors, hates mint, so the poor hygienist has to deal with that...but she does well, thankfully. No new cavities. Little sis will have her first check up this coming week. I'm a bit behind schedule with her, but she's much better about brushing her teeth than Libby ever has been.

Birthday month - February 2013

Library Books this week:
"Max's Bunny Business" by
"Pigs Will be Pigs" by Alex Axelrod
"Paddywack" by
"Amazing Eggs" by
Library books last week:

2nd loose tooth is hanging by a thread for Olivia. She doesn't want us to pull it, says it hurts too much. Once again though, the new tooth is already pushing in behind it. So, it needs to come out. We went to the dentist for a cleaning earlier this week and all is well. Libby got her "No Cavity Club Member" sticker. Mommy wasn't so lucky. lol.

Little sis picked up pink eye somewhere and we dealt with that last week. It started in her left eye and quickly spread to her right eye. Thankfully, some eye drops cleared it up quickly.

Libby's elementary school has finally officially become an IB school for the PYP Program.

"Hey guys? Look at me!" "Hey, wait for me!" - Sabrina's new phrases crack me up. Her speech has gotten really good, very good at articulating what she wants, needs. She understands everything and can give a detailed account of her day. ;)

Libby's behavior has been out of control some days. It's usually in the evening. I know she is tired from school, activities and playing, but it seems pretty bad most days. We deteriorate to shouting and threatening consequences (no dessert, no toys, no books). She starts yelling, stomping her feet, rolling her eyes or even laughing. I know that deep down she is a good kid. She has been doing great at school. Why does she test us so much at home?

The loose tooth has decided to hang on to the bitter end, leading the new permanent tooth to surface behind it already ("shark teeth"). So, we may be heading to the dentist to get that tooth out. Lovely...

mid-June 2012

Summer break has been moving slowly...Olivia is stretching her artistic muscles with some painting classes. She went last week and will go again tomorrow. She really seems to love drawing, coloring, and painting.

Sabrina is turning into a track star with her running and jumping ;)

Olivia went for another dental check-up/cleaning today. She did really well. No new cavities.

School's out for Winter...

Winter Break started today for Olivia. Her last day of school for the semester was yesterday. The kids had a small party. Spring Semester starts on 5 Jan. 2012

Book of the week: "Oodles of Animals"
Word of the week: bells

Olivia & I went to the dentist this past week for a general check-up/cleaning. She did really well. No new cavities. Sabrina stayed w/Ms. Erin, which was a huge help to me.

Sabrina loves to dance, stomp her foot and scream. Yea, I think the terrible 2's are starting early w/this one. She screams at the top of her voice & looks around to see who is paying attention. It's ear-piercing. I like that she understands simple commands though. And she shows interest in the potty. It's very, very basic, but she goes thru an entire routine. I put her on the toilet to pretend to pee. She stands on the stool and washes hands at the sink. Then, dries her hands w/ the towel.

Sabrina seemed to be in a lot of pain from teething today. That 4th molar is working through now. Poor kid. They seem to take forever.
