I love seeing the girls play together now. It's usually nice, though there can be occassional fighting ;) They play Barbies, trains, My Little Pony, school...
Libby's behavior is definitely getting better, steadily. We still have fights but she gets over it faster and apologizes. It's nice to see things improving.
School is going well. Conferences are in a few weeks. They will be "student-led" which sounds interesting. Her latest math paper that came home said, "Super! Less than 1 minute!" Her last project about resources and living things went well, too. She presented on Shetland Ponies and items from the grocery store.
We have had a few delayed starts and 1 snow day in the past few weeks. Much needed snow.
Night 1: One accident, then 2 hrs, then all night :)
Night 2: One accident, then 4 hrs, then all night
Night 3: two accidents, then all night (4hrs between)

Birthday month - February 2013
Library Books this week:
"Max's Bunny Business" by
"Pigs Will be Pigs" by Alex Axelrod
"Paddywack" by
"Amazing Eggs" by
Library books last week:
2nd loose tooth is hanging by a thread for Olivia. She doesn't want us to pull it, says it hurts too much. Once again though, the new tooth is already pushing in behind it. So, it needs to come out. We went to the dentist for a cleaning earlier this week and all is well. Libby got her "No Cavity Club Member" sticker. Mommy wasn't so lucky. lol.
Little sis picked up pink eye somewhere and we dealt with that last week. It started in her left eye and quickly spread to her right eye. Thankfully, some eye drops cleared it up quickly.
Libby's elementary school has finally officially become an IB school for the PYP Program.

Library books:
"Chrysanthemum" by Kevin Henkes
"So Happy!" by Kevin Henkes
"The Mermaid Parade" by Kelly Doudna
"Jin Woo" by Eve Bunting
IB profile attitude: Communications. Book: "Sitti's Secrets" by Naomi Shihab Nye
IXL Math and Lexia reading are now part of the daily homework assignment. Twenty mins. of either program or reading & discussion. Libby is almost on Level 3 of Lexia and she is doing really well w/IXL. She's really doing well in school. It makes me so proud and happy. She writes notes to me and to her teacher almost everyday. She's very good at sounding words out to spell them.

First Wiggly tooth
Olivia's got her 1st wiggly tooth. Another sign that My little girl is growing up (in case I wasn't paying attention). We read "Silverlicious" nearly every night now "in honor of" her tooth, as she says.
The last 2 weeks of school have been short (3 days each) due to teacher work days and conferences. Olivia's conference was good. Her teacher had only good things to say. She is meeting expectations and progressing in all evaluated areas. She's in one of the higher reading groups and doing well. Literacy folders seem to have been bringing home progressively more complex books (Dan The Tan Man).
We've had some fun projects come home, including a "quilt square" to highlight a family tradition and an "All About Me Tee" to share O's faves like movie, book, food, etc.
Integrity, Confidence, Empathy, Creativity - a few of the attributes the kids have covered in the past few weeks. Next week is curiosity: A strong desire to know or learn something, A quality related to inquisitive thinking such as exploration, investigation.
sight words: this, that, is, in, it, she

Reflective
In our rush out the door this morning, we forgot to pack up Olivia's library books. So, Sabrina & I had to run them up to school.
Library books: "Days With Frog and Toad" by Arnold Lobel, "Angelina's Baby Sister" by Katharine Holabird, and "BEEGU" by Alexis Deacon.
Math worksheets came home. Pattern identification, shape identification, simple addition.
The Learner Profile Attributes folder came home today. Attitude: Reflective. Story, "Queen Nadine." This one is hard for me to explain to Olivia. She has to write/draw about a time when she has been reflective. Thankfully, we have a week to work on it as packs aren't due back until Thursday.
